Κλασικές Ιστορίες Popeye #5 – Ηλεκτρονικές Σφαλιάρες (1978-1980)
- Reward Points: 18
We all more or less know Popeye, or at least have heard of him. His name has been made famous through movies, video games, cartoons and of course comic books. Internationally, Elsie Chrysler Segar's creation has managed to connect with a whole range of generations, from 1929 to the present day. In 2002, TV Guide ranked Popeye number 20 on its list of the "50 Best Cartoon Characters of All Time".
Bud Sagendorff (1915-1994) is the creator of the longest-running Popeye comic strip. He created many dozens of stories of the beloved sailor, both in comic book form and in daily and Sunday strip newspaper form, and fleshed out the universe of our beloved sailor with many new characters while deepening the existing ones. In Greece, he became very popular through the magazines of the publishing house "Dragounis" that hit the newsstands from 1973 to the mid-1990s. But for practical reasons, his stories underwent changes, since they were created to be printed in American newspapers, not in newsstand comic magazines.
In the Classic Popeye Stories series, we present these stories in their original, original form. This is a series of our own production, with the aim of reading the adventures of the famous sailor without any cuts, just as they were published in America. Most of the stories have been recently redistributed by King Features Syndicate and are available edited and in color. Those stories that had remained in black and white to date have been colorized by our editors to the standards of the American editions, and are presented in the correct chronological order for complete chronological continuity.
Volume five includes the following nine adventures from 1978-1980. The stories in the new volume were altered to such an extent that sometimes the entire plot was completely changed. In the nine new stories in the volume, Popeye will meet a number of characters from the Thimble Theatre Company, including the Ghosts, Castor, King Bloozo, Oyl and the Mute. Still, Bud Sagendorf is asked to answer questions such as what is Popeye's full name? Do we know his last name or what family he comes from? What would happen if Poldo lost a belly? Can Popeye become a proper gentleman and stop throwing slaps?
