When it comes to westerns, Blueberry is the absolute reference. This character was created for PILOTE in 1963 by Charlier and Giraud. They initially played a solid soldier who appeared to be Belmondo's double. The resemblance faded over the course of the episodes. Blueberry was a hothead: tenacious, not always respectful of military rigor, undisciplined, he sometimes did not hesitate to desert in order to best fulfill his missions. The screenplay used all the clichés of the American Western with all the necessary twists and turns and picturesque characters (Mc Clure, Angel Face, Red Nick, Chihuahua Pearl, etc., not to mention the Indians who were rehabilitated by the authors, a point of view also adopted in Cartland). In parallel with the classic cycle of the Blueberry saga, Giraud drew the youth of the future lieutenant between 68 and 70. This "series" resumed its course in 85 under the pencil of Colin Wilson, very respectful of the style imposed by Giraud. The albums were successively published by Dargaud (22 titles, most of the content) then by Fleurus/Hachette, then by Novédi and finally by Alpen for the new one drawn by Vance. Dargaud undertook the reissue of the Blueberry albums redesigned and embellished with new colors.

The comic is in the greek language.
